So I guess I'm taking the trouble to write this as a warning to tourists. Basically, all the restaurants we have eaten at on the South Bank are overpriced with underwhelming food. Advice: eat in the City!

I wouldn't normally trouble write a review, but next day we had lunch at a Chinese "dive" in the city - the Nam Loong Restaurant , I think, in Russell St, between Little Burke St and Lonsdale St.. absolutely outstanding food, BYO if one wants some wine for $10 a bottle instead of $75, and the outstanding meal for two cost - wait for it - $26 TOTAL.

Go for the Dinner and Banquet. Avoid the routine dumplings, they are not fine dining enough. I think my taste buds were happy with the $95 dinner deal.

Nice variety of dishes, beautifully designed, and quite a romantic place. Well priced and decent sized portions. Elegant vibe with attentive staff make the place even more enjoyable.

Amazing food! Fantastic service! And did I mention amazing food!

The food was pleasant but far from outstanding. But as for value for money - I would have to say some number less than 2 out of 10. (My polite way of saying zero!). $100 for a two dish shared meal for two, and $75 for a "cheap" bottle of wine - which I actually had to request be left on my table rather than poured, taken away, poured...
